Maybe I am too shallow, but I would say just skip straight to disc 2 (sides c and d).
This is a sublime conceptual journey. As the commenter below writes, this is a soundtrack through many bleak winters to come. Agnes Obel is a master of creating a certain atmosphere, where darkness is accompanied with warmth and achingly beautiful minor harmonies. This is not for the blissed out chillout rooms, but rather for late night deep talks with a loved one. This one is precious to me.- This is a fantastic compilation, perfect on a bleak wintery day. Very impressed with the recent late night tales pressings, the vinyl is very quiet, and full of dynamics. Great work!
