- this a travesty that its pressed on a multi-colored vinyl mix. you can hear the different amounts of surface noise that each different color makes on every revolution. why add that artifact to some pretty raw recordings in the first place? Effing Bootleggers!!! i should have bought one of the 'yellow' vinyl copies that the shop also had just to not be annoyed by the almost ticking/clicking background noise that this 3-color blend inherently has on while its spinning, but they were $5 more, and im a cheap guy whos on a budget, to put it mildly. at least its cut at 45rpm to try and combat the noise of the color vinyl. this is begging for a reissue on Black vinyl. but im more than happy to get these great sessions on some decent sounding vinyl for the first time in my life. i would give it 5-stars if that ever happens.
- Edited 3 years agotheres copies of this at a shop close to me for a while now. i never bought one just cos the (lack of) packaging makes this look like a really cheap and low quality "cash-in" type of release. after reading the reviews here, i think i will be going back to that shop soon and grabbing one for myself.
- Edited 4 years agoDon t understand why they still underrate two of Pink Floyd s best songs: Scream thy last Scream and Vegetable Man...of course Jugband Blues is great too.
- It's a shame NoKidding couldn't have released this in a proper sleeve (and as a disc with proper labels).
As an aside, what has release of this material got to do with PF/Gilmour anyway? Not only is this now Public Domain, but don't the BBC own the copyright to what they record and broadcast? Were they so lacking in vision 50 years back that they left the ownership of the material with the artists? It's criminal that Syd's music remains shelved because of the whim of his stadium-guitar replacement and the Architect... - I do not know why and who makes the decision to stop allowing the sale of some of these LP's. This one was sold, and still available at Turntable Lab as well as many other indie stores. Even the description here on this page goes on to state the copyright laws and it's reference towards this LP. These are very desirable to the fans of these groups. We are collectors. BBC shows, live broadcasts or field recordings, unreleased material from the vaults....YUM! I understand removing something that is a direct pirate of an official release but there are just so many "fan club" LP's here on this site that have been denied re-sale and that is truly a shame.
- Excellent sound, excellent pressing (at 45 rpm !). Sounds better than the equivalent on the Early Years boxed set !
- Nice record to have, the pressing quality is surprisingly good. Better than some of the vinyls I have, the audio quality is good.
