Well, this is quite funky all the way throughout the album. Good grooves, enjoyable and recommendable for jazz-funk lovers. Good album, but something is lacking to make it great. For me it sounds kind of flat and too predictable, especially considering trumpet sound of Mr. Henderson. My favorites: "Open Eyes" and "Morning Sound".

I have "Herriage" and "Sunburst" on vintage copies for more than ten years now in my record collection. I listen to them once in a while. It's cool groovy jazz and the sound is hi-fi on my system. I thought I'd check out other albums fra E.H. As always when I hunt for music on LP or CD, it's online where I listen to hole tracks or samples on where ever I can find it. So I can off cause only focus on the music it self not the recording. Far the most LP's and CD's I buy er good or in hi-fi quality. But this copy of "Comin' Through" are not. Without being an expert on the matter, I can only state the fact that the sound is very rich and close to distort in some more complex music passages. I got a 2 M Black cartridge and that is able to keep the sound on the acceptable side. But the two tracks with a female singer has bad sibilance. Fortunately it's only few an short vocal passages. If it was all vocal I would have tossed the record away. It would have been unlistable to me. Lucky that's not the case. The music itself is quite cool. Jazzy, funky and with a hint of disco now and then, after all it is from '77. I can recommend it for the cool vibe, you just get happy and feet tapping and it helps overlook the sound quality. The sound is not poor or bad, just not as good as the majority of LP recording as a hole in all genres. If the sound have been at least good, I would have give the music 4 stars. Now I'm down to 3.

      My copy is this: Matrix / Runout (A) ST-1-11671 Z3 #2 ─◁ (B) ST-2-11671 Z3 #3 ─◁Pressing Plant ID: ─◁
