Fantastic pressing. I have a decent rig, and it can be brutally honest when there are deficiencies in a cut, but on the flip-side, quality cuts will really shine. This pressing lights up. Considering the original analog masters were lost, how can I give anything short of an A+ to the mastering team. Well done. My advice it to get this one while its still <100$, because it wont be forever…

I'll give them props for thinking outside the box and giving us a unique package for this important 30th anniversary release. Problem is nobody wants to see the 'banned' artwork presented like this- they should have kept it simple and put the banned artwork just on the front cover as it should be. I will say the foil slipcase is a nice addition if you also have the UYI deluxe foil cover releases.

If you had the original analog tape, why in the world would you not cut this album all analog?

Just got 2 versions (though categorized under this same barcode)…one with hype sticker and one without. The hype sticker one (purchased from recent shipment from local music store)…I went through two of those albums. Both had visible and audible markings on side 1 track 1 (Welcome to the jungle). I bought a non-hype sticker version at Walmart. Played both the damaged hype stickered vinyl against the Walmart non hype sticker. Totally different. The hype sticker sounded like vinyl (guitars were huge and smooth), the non hype sticker one sounded like a CD (thinner but better separation. Both of these are listed as variants of the same vinyl. They sound completely different! Now I’m trying to find a hype sticker one that doesn’t have the imperfection on track 1

Best pressing for this album that I've heard yet. I haven't had a chance to compare them all, but the quality of this record is top-notch.

How does this compare to the 2015 repress? I’ve only heard that version on vinyl and the guitars sounded very tinny and quiet.

                  Pressing - 5/5
Mine is perfectly pressed, I have zero complaints about anything. Flat, heavy, centered, dead quiet, no inner groove distortion, even on side C that goes further into the inner grooves. Everything is great on my copy.

                  Mastering - 4.5/5
I don't have another version to compare it to, but this sounds excellent. I notice a touch of compression / lack of clarity at times on the high end, but the low end is fantastic. Of course, GNR is best played as loud as possible, and the dynamics shine at high volumes. Nearly perfect, and from what I can gather from other reviews, this is the best version.

                  Packaging - 4/5
It's a nice gatefold and comes pacakged with poly lined sleeves. The hologram isn't great, but that's an afterthought to me anyway.
Some of the art is a bit low-res, but otherwise its great.

                  Overall - 5/5
This sounds great, well mastered and perfectly pressed. Although I don't have another version to compare to, seems like this is the press to get.

Sound quality is decent and I like that it’s 3 sides and I don’t have to switch sides as much as I would with a traditional double LP. The hologram side looks defective, but might be I didn’t understand how to operate it. The artwork ranges from mediocre to terrible. The outer is this matte paper I’ve seen in other reissues, and the art itself looks like a vectorized version of the original cover. The inner gatefold looks appalling. It’s terribly pixelated and makes it look like a cheap knockoff.
