Il Mondo Di what? The World Of Curd?? Curd like cheesecake??? …without a doubt, this is the weirdest, funniest and most interesting library title that I ever came across. Gold medal winner for sure.

When I read the title, I thought this is a record for a documentary about curd manufacture. Titles that translate into themes like Enchanted Nature, Microcells, Biological Ripples, Ion Feelings, Hell, Ice Age, Aquatic Sensations and Vulcan made me rethink. Looks like this is a record about the creation of the world and beyond!?

With further research, and the help from the famous library archaeologist and researcher the.mr, I had to find out that this is the soundtrack to a educational science TV series with the similar title, which makes some sense at last. The series was directed by Piero Angela and was broadcasted between 1981 and 1994. According to Wikipedia, Il Mondo Di Quark was his most famous show and spawned a large number of specials and spin-offs dedicated to several scientific topics, from dinosaurs to human biology, from history to anthropology, from astronomy and cosmology to economy. You can see one full length episode on youtube which starts with divers discovering artefacts at the bottom of the sea.

Now back to the actual record: The music sounds absolutely sublime to my ears! In fact, first thing I was thinking is, that these cues sound like outtakes from infamous records like Insetti, Scienza E Biologia, Ittiologia and Biologia Marina. If you listen close, you can hear the abstract and well-known craftsmanship that your ears are used to from the records mentioned above. Beautiful experimental underwater feeling and that certain bubbly, dreamy atmosphere. Perfect for your next dinner party where you invite your favourite biochemists, astrophysicists and math geniuses for a sophisticated chat.

Another stunning and quite unknown beauty and one for the Insta-chumps to seek out and brag...
