- Edited 2 months agoJacula/Antonius Rex discography in the 70's
LP's
Jacula - Tardo Pede In Magiam Versus (Rogers '72.),
Antonius Rex - Zora (Tickle '77.),
Antonius Rex - Zora 2nd edition (Tickle '78.)
Antonius Rex - Ralefun (Radio Records '79.)
45's
Invisible Force - Morti Vident/1999 Mundi Finis (Uni Funk '71.?)
Despite back cover note says: "from LP Black Wizard", that LP was never released
Antonius Rex - Agonia Per Un Amore / Witch Dance (Spark '77.)
Front cover note clearly says in Italian : "from Antonius Rex 3rd album", which was Ralefun (2nd edition of Zora album being obviously counted).
There is no evidence of any other releases from them prior to Antonius Rex - Anno Demoni (Musik Research '91.)
All other discography info placing their releases to
1969. Jacula - In Cauda Semper Stat Venenum
1974. Antonius Rex - Neque Semper Arcum Tendit Rex
1979. Antonius Rex - Anno Demoni
1980. Antonius Rex - Praeternatural

These are from 21st century (except Anno Demoni from '91. - release year questionable though - it was also released as an album by Jacula on Mellow Records in a CD format and with a different cover art, supposedly in 1992.). - It's been said that the album has been messed with when reissued on Black Widow, which I don't doubt. Those heavy metal guitar riffs found seem to not fit in with 1969 aesthetics. Plus the piano sounds more like a digital piano (like one can get in 2001, but impossible in 1969), than a real one. Apparently the original LP was released on the Gnome label and sold to religious sects interested and friends and not in stores (you can see why). I don't doubt the vocal and pipe organ parts are definitely 1969, but the guitar and piano sounds like a more recent add-on. At least on their next album Tardo Pede in Magium Versus, everything heard on the reissues are as they would be the original LP from 1972, very little guitar (no metal guitar riffs). As for In Cauda Semper Stat Venenum, it appears that original LPs never show up so it's hard telling how it would be like to hear it in its original form.
