Recorded at Rockfield Studios, Monmouth and Scorpio Sound, London

On sleeve rear: EMI Records Ltd. Hayes Middlesex England. Made and printed in Great Britain.
'Fusion' sub-label or series appears on label and sleeve.
These master recordings were made on a Studer A80 Analogue Tape Recorder at a tape speed of 76 centimetres per second. Ampex 2" magnetic tape was used at a flux density of 320 Nwb/m. Dolby A noise reduction was utilized on all 24 tracks to achieve optimum signal to noise ratio. In the studio, close microphone placement techniques were used to give maximum separation between the various instruments, and where possible, some electric instruments were recorded by directly injecting their outputs into the recording console.
A wide selection of microphones was used. These included Neumann U87, Sony C37, and AKG 452E condenser type. RCA DX77 and Beyer M160 ribbon type, and Shure SM56 and Sennheiser MD421 dynamic type microphones.
In the control room, during remix, a Cadac 32 input, 24 output, line transformerless console used, while monitoring on UREI 813 Time Aligned speaker systems. Mixes were made to a Studer A80 recorder with DIN type stereo heads at a tape speed of 38 centimetres per second using BASF SPR 50 LH-R 1/4" magnetic tape at 320 Nwb/m again using Dolby A noise reduction. No artificial second harmonic phase shift was used. Tape to disc transfer was made on a Neumann VMS 74 variable pitch lathe via Neumann power amps to an SX 74 cutter head.
