Reviews
Incredible masterpiece of sounds and sound quality - this is something to experience and remember!- Composer, sound artist and producer Brian Eno is a household name in pop music, which gained fame in the 1970s as a member of Roxy Music and later devoted to producing albums by U2, Talking Heads and David Bowie. Besides producing Eno has worked with many other musicians (John Cale, Harold Budd, Robert Fripp, Jah Wobble) and developed also by experimenting with sounds which originated the term ambient: ambient music meant to evoke interaction between man and his environment. Also the album Drawn From Life is a largely instrumental turned, that eleven beautiful track. The album is the impact of a concert that Eno, Holger Czukay (ex-Can) and the German dj/percussionist and platenlabel owner Peter Schwalm gave at the opening of an exhibition in Bonn. The compositions by Eno and Schwalm sound sober, simple, quiet, beautiful and playful. Using Dictaphone (Holger Czukay), guitar, percussion, violin and a single sample. A vocal guest contribution is there of the American Laurie Anderson. In terms of atmosphere is the album in line with albums like My Life In The Bush Of Ghosts (with David Byrne) and The Plateau or Mirror (with Harold Budd) from the 1980s.
