When I first listened to this it felt like the band was trying too hard at the time to evolve their sound and put out a more experimental record, now that I’ve listened to this record over and over it’s safe to say this album has my favorite songwriting, of any record, ever. The biblical allusions, the raw and animated maniacal vocal delivery from Jack Brewer who was nothing short of a genius. The bass and guitar little short to long bits, the raw rock formed into almost jazz ensembles. It takes a lot of listening and took me some acid to really appreciate this album.

So in short, don’t compare this record to Paganicons, for it is different and takes almost a new set of ears to truly understand and appreciate this record.

Fantastic record. I have to admit I wasn’t a total fan at first. I guess I was comparing it to Paganicons. This record is way more aggressive with a slight “jazzy” punk approach. I hate jazz but the combination of the two styles works well here. Dare I even say a tinge of proto math rock in moments? Jack Brewer’s vocals are as raw an animated as ever. Just a kick ass record all the way through.
