FFF does it again on one of the UKs most consistent labels and this three tracker does not disappoint one bit.

Never Give Up (The Vibes) has that 93 transitional sound with its Hardcore elements and proto (early) jungle beats and basslines. A well spaced out cut, that gently bubbles along, adding Amens, high pitched / low pitched vocals and dub wise elements. Later Reese bass and lovely subs are added to the mix, with a sweet bridge of complex beat stutters and stretches, complemented with dark side style stabs. This track never fully lets go and holds back, keeping it etheric and uplifting with lovely pads adding sweet atmosphere to roil up this wicked piece of tune

Heart is a complex intelligent Jungle beauty, with hint of the early 93 Hardcore Jungle sound, the breaks are scatty, but also tight, the vibes are jazzy at first, but deep as it evolves, switching up after the breakdown. This track really does up the energy, but manages to hold back never becoming too full on and aggressive. The less is more approach works to great effect on this one

Evolved As One is my favourite of the three, with its scientific style of Jungle that I adore; its complex, well thought out and has a great vibe to it. I love the 2nd breakdown which slows down, then notches up the riddims throwing the Amen in, to great effect, but doing it right and enhancing the vibe without tearing you a new one. This is what good Drum & Bass sounds like, constantly progressing and evolving whilst having bags of atmosphere and complexity.

A great release on a top notch label.
