- Edited 2 years agoTime square 3 ist maybe the more powerful song on this epic reocrd, because of the little goa elements and building and building up the atmosphere. Therefore more spacyer than time square 1. Time square 1 was called Sven Väth Knister Platte......
Time square 2 is to me the more abstract song and is very good stuff.
All songs fit well to basic channel stuff. - Edited 2 years agoJust look at the praise for this record in the comments below and you know this is a gem of a 12”. I bought this when it was first released as I was (still am) heavily into everything from Khan, Walker, Jammin Unit and their numerous projects and side projects.
This record leans heavily into deep, psychedelic, experimental electronics. One for the real trip heads, as this one goes deep and very dark in points especially part II with its melted, droning atmosphere and unctuous, almost tribal percussion. With the use of some seriously bizarre sounding chanting that ebbs and flows through the track to start the walls melting around your already fried cerebral cortex is a real touch of trippy magic.
This is worth owning just for part I alone with its mesmerising, building, almost trance inducing beauty. The other 2 tracks are bonus gems and if you want to treat yourself further then buy the CD/Double vinyl albums as well. The journey wouldn’t be complete without it!! Be brave as this is a real trip into some serious, heady electronic music but what a journey it is. 10/10 perfection. - Edited 5 years agoI don't own the record but man. Time Square - Part I is flat out one of the most romantic & atmospheric tracks I have ever heard. I swear. my little tribute: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h_PxAhS5plc
- Oh man, i got this for 99p when it came out. Just listened to it again after 20 years in the lodt. Good investment!
- all time uber classic! this is what electronic music is all about! any price is justified for this one...seriously.
- Edited 9 years agoThis record is so special and beautiful (mainly A side)! If you plan to buy it, ask the seller to check if there is not too much noise and pops on the long intro without beat and the outro too... As this track seems to be recorded live on old school gear, it deserves to play perfectly to generate its full power.
- Edited 19 years agoThis disc contains three long masterpieces of acid minimalism and ambient. Total playing time is almost an hour! Excerpts from Part I and Part III also appear on the Rolleiflex-Weltron-Time Square CD (MP 10 CD), but it is well worth tracking down the vinyl for Part II and the full versions of Part I+III.
- Time Square Part I has become a legendary status when Sven Väth played it at the end of his radio-show 'Clubnight' on december the 17th in 1994. Still a lot of people know this record as 'die kleine süße Platte die live am Lagerfeuer aufgenommen wurde'...
An ambient-classic forever...
