Reviews
- one of the most beautiful emotionally charged electronic albums i've ever come across. So unique in its sound, drenched in emotion. 20/10. would listen again. and again. and again. and again.
- John Beltran returns to Peacefrog with his Placid Angles moniker. The Cry goes along the same lines his earlier album, Ten Days of Blue. “Scarlett Season” sets us squarely back in Detroit, but “Ocean (London Mix)” puts us back out to sea in waves of ambience and disembodied vocal samples. “Her Elements” shuffles along at a stately pace. Again, Beltran knows how to put together a solid song, but this album isn’t quite as strong as Ten Days of Blue. The production is crisp, but it lacks that certain je ne sais quoi. Worth having in your collection, definitely, but not necessarily one you’ll find yourself listening to repeatedly and endlessly.
