Reviews
- 26 minutes of music on one of the sides is just dumb, dumb! Solution, low volume and compression to hide the resolution and to create the illusion of more bass than there actually is, hence compressed. I'll stick with my original CD until this is spread over 2 LPs.
- Wonderful copy. No noise whatsoever, astounding sound, detailed, beautifully mastered. Loved the record, love it even more now.
- Edited one year agoMoving, involving , atmospheric sound. Pauses are clear, no shavings. Thanks once more to the parlophone guys!
ps One minus: a infra low frequency gusts are heavy on this vinyl-(maybe the vinyl mass problems?), from the beginning of listening I disn't notice that bug. Speaker systems woofers are about to jump off, so only four stars estimated go up! - Good pressing, flat, quiet, perfectly centered. A poly lined inner sleeve would have been nice, though. Sound is a bit on the dark side, but nothing to be concerned about.
- Interestingly, just got my copy in today and this reissue sounds fantastic at my side. Flat, quiet and nicely mixed. I don’t have any sibilence on my side but then I can imagine some having that issue as the highs are there. I’m using an Audio Technica VM540ML cart to listen to this record and it’s fine-sounding. This cart usually eradicates a lotta sibilence problems I had with other records. So the first time I’m listening to this Behaviour it’s good!
- I've bought Behavior on vinyl reprinted in 2018 by Parlaphone Records made in EU and the sound is bad. Neil Tennant's vocals saturate in highs. A shame, they ruined the record.
- My pressing sounds fantastic for a single disc long player. The gain has to be increased but the noise floor is super low so it's not a big deal. Bass really thumps, great dynamics and separation of instruments. Very clean and quiet. There is a slight sibilance but it is not fatiguing, even at loud volumes. Actually sounds really good turned up. I think the sibilance is probably due to the low volume caused by the single lp. I think it's a great sounding recording of an outstanding release by the boys.
- Edited 4 years agoThe more I play this, the more I think a 45-RPM, 2xLP would have been the way to go. It could be arranged like this:
Side 1: Boring, Place
Side 2: Truth, Expect, Wind
Side 3: October, Hard
Side 4: Nervously, World, Jealousy
This would preserve the flow of the album but sound much better. There's just too much sibilance on too many tracks. Frankly my original US CD sounds better. Reissuing their albums on vinyl the way they did was a bigtime missed opportunity. - Edited 4 years agoI love the Pet Shop Boys. This album is a classic and I was hoping for a flawless vinyl version. It almost is. I will say if you listen closely to the intro of 'Being Boring' you can hear a strange thump thump, thump thump, thump thump, right into the intro which is not on the original recording of 'Being Boring'. Just being picky at $40.00 plus tax you know. Maybe it is just my record?
- Edited one year agoThe 2018 PSB reissues are absolutely flawless. The highlight is the mastering by Tim Young - this is how you remaster 80s/90s productions. Sibilance is largely controlled, though not completely eradicated - I did not detect any issues on ‘Only The Wind’. Artwork is super-clean, with sturdy jackets and inner sleeves. A first-rate release, and worthy of a place in your record collection,
