Notes
Dragonfly Presents 'A Voyage Into Trance'
Track 3 is incorrectly listed as 'Total Eclipse - Aliens'. It is actually 'Dynamix - The Rezistor'. The credits for this track have been taken from Order Odonata Vol. 1 which is the original appearance of this track.
Track 10 title is titled 'Slinky Wizard'.
These two errors have been carried forward on the several versions of this release in the subsequent years.
This original Dragonfly version is unindexed - with the entire mix on one 'track' of the CD (hence no individual durations). Total time is 72:39. Subsequent versions have the tracks indexed.
After Track 12 finishes, there is a brief drum loop and vocal sample, taken from 'Only Love Can Break Your Heart (A Mix Of Two Halves)' by St Etienne.
Tracks 1, 6, 7, 9 & 11 published by Copyright Control.
Tracks 2, 4, 5, & 8 published by City Beat Music.
Track 10 published by Copyright Control/Big Life Music.
Track 12 published by Big Life Music.

- Dogshit ass mix. Oakenfold is a hack and bandwagoner. Go get you Order Odonata Vol 1 instead. You can also get Project II Trance and TIP Yellow for more of the tracks. The first failure of this mix is that he's mixing two different eras of goa. Order Odonata 1 and Project II Trance are completely different things. The master sucks compares to Order Odonata Vol 1 (which is beautiful). The song transitions are cheap, dated, and lazy. Some tracks are time stretched which makes them sound like shit. The Prana track is cut in half.
If you are clueless to goa trance, picked this up in a record store dollar bin and are reading these comments trying to figure out if it's worth it, then yes, get it, and when you hear how good these individual songs are, go buy the original Dragonfly compilations these tracks are sourced from. They are infinitely better. - A good solid album, old now, yes of course it is from 1995! I bought this first time over 20 years ago, loved it then and love it now! I don’t suppose it’s much sought after these days unless your sourcing cds from your younger days or building a collection but it will offer a good honest and sound introduction to the genre if your looking into how and where this Goa scene all originated
- As an album, its not very strong, because Hallucinogen - LSD and Man With No Name - Teleport pretty much carry the album. Its hard to listen to a Goa album continuously in its entirety when its driving throughout - as opposed to Oakenfold's Goa Mix, which mixes in some other styles as well. I would suggest listening to Hallucinogen's artist album Twisted and Astral Projection's Trust In Trance if you want a good classic Goa album.
It sounds a little dated, too. Aside from LSD and Teleport, which everyone knows, most of the other tracks are somewhat forgettable or simplistic.
Oakenfold only put his name to it and may have picked the tracks ..
as i have the cd .. as the ending reeks of tweaked on a pc ..
- Edited 19 years agoWhen I first listen to the "Order Odonata" compilation, I thought "this is it - Trance music has changed forever". As mentioned: "Hit after hit after hit..."
However, Oakenfold's set was a big disapointment: he miss the whole feeling that you got from "Order Odonata" compilation, which contains more or less the same tracks. Mny of them are old-favorites.
The musical editing, the amateur DJ mix, a bad mastering, and the fact that nobody thought about spiliting the set into seperate tracks, shows that it's not enough just to put a few good tracks into a continues mux. Music has to "Flow", and on this case it doen't work!
I never realy liked Oakenfold work, but this CD is simply a disaster!!! Shame on you, Paul! - Edited 19 years agoThis compilation has it.
The true spirit of goatrance is manifested on this unbelievable trip to the sources of energy and movement. Hit after hit, after hit, after hit takes you to somewhere you have never truly been. Paul Oakenfold has done a masterpiece in mixing and compilating. This compilation is a must-to-hear and a splendid purchase to any collection.
10/5!
