Reviews
- I wonder if anyone will reissue this on CD, maybe expanded to include more of the Red Planet tracks... hint hint
- Red Planet from RP-1 and Red Atmospheres from RP-4 would have been a nice inclusion on "A Red Planet Compilation"....;)
I added also another disc pressing.
https://www.discogs.com/The-Martian-LBH-6251876-A-Red-Planet-Compilation/release/15319601 - Two problems with this as I see it. 1 - sex in zero gravity is just an analogue track, doesn't sound at all right in digital. Even the youtube version sounds better with its static and audible rumble of the record player on the opening notes.
2 - the best (imo) red planet track, red atmospheres, isn't on it.
Still a good album mind. - Edited 9 years agoAm looking for the text on the liner notes on this (as seen in the images), about the Mars mythology of this release. If anyone could help me out with a scan or transcription of the text would be really appreciated. Please send me a PM if you can help :-) EDIT: info now in images.
- Edited 13 years agoThis is an absolute fantastic album with all the best tracks from the red planet 12"s. This is definitly Detroit Techno at it's finest from the sublime synth scapes to the driving miltant beats of Star Dancer. Buy this cd at all costs, as I highly recommend it. Excellent music for the head and the feet.
- Edited 18 years agoWhat a spectacular release by the Underground Resistance guys. Lush, deep and soulful detroit techno music at its best. No detroit techno collection is complete without this fantastic album, every single track here is unique in sound, and not a single track on this compilation should be overlooked.
My favourite tracks include Lost Transmission From Earth, Windwalker and Soulshine. Expect this CD to hit your wallet hard, but it's worth it!!!
