Edited 6 years agoThose who are following the late Polish violinist's output will certainly be glad for this archives CD, even if it's for the most a reissue of the Kilimanjaro session from November 1978! So just in case, here are a few comments that may anyway have you to want this release!
Tracks 1 to 5 present the Zbigniew Seifert quintet and are taken from the Kilimanjaro sessions (see Zbigniew Seifert - Kilimanjaro). Track 2 - Quo Vadis - is what previously was the untitled track. Track 5 - here titled Bass Line A-Moll - is in fact the tune "Where Are You From", abridged on several other releases and until now only available in its entirety on Zbigniew Seifert - Kilimanjaro.
Track 6 has Seifert playing with the Polish Radio Jazz Studio Orchestra, a studio recording from 1972. On tracks 1 to 6, Seifert is featured on violin.
Track 7 presents the Zbigniew Seifert Quartet - with Seifert on alt sax this time - recorded live at the National Philarmonic Hall in Warsaw, on October 31st, 1970.
