Reviews
- This is an excellent compilation of mostly local Baltimore talent interspersed with dialogue clips from the show's run. The show didn't use score-cues of any kind during the entirety of its five seasons. They only used segements of songs as you would've heard them had you been a character in the show: the blaring, distorted disco coming from the open window of an old TransAm, the booming subs of a slowly passing SUV, the song on a jukebox as a character drunkenly tries to seduce another bar patron, or The Pogues during a tradition cop funeral wake at a local Irish pub.
The selections on this disc are ecclectic and diverse, and bring the show's amazing vibe right back to you as you listen. And the four different versions of 'Way Down in the Hole' round it out nicely. This is a must have for any fan of the criminally underappreciated HBO series.
