I confirm other reviews here. Terrible vinyle pressing. The disc completely sounds worn out when right out of the plastic wrap. Repetitive plays do not remove static surface noises. I should have returned them for a refund.

This is not a Mockasin record, but that of the fictional - and not that good - band the Jassbusters. Some of it is okay, but just don't get your hopes up too high.

Yeah my pressing is also pretty noisy on the surface....but it doesn’t really phase me owing to the ironic, DIY aesthetic of the album. You can hear the frequency from the cheap tape player humming in between tracks. The music is so funky and recorded so delicately, it’s bloody excellent. Love that unmistakeable gurgling guitar style... and how’s that James Blake collab on Momo’s?! What a bonus.

I'm hearing a lot of surface noise on this pressing, unfortunately. It's also very quiet in the sense that you have to crank up your amp to hear it, and here's the thing, if you can listen to the digital version on the same system and it sounds better than the vinyl.....even if the digital is lossless going through a dac, something isn't right. Other than that, it's a real mellow, interesting effort and concept. Mexican Summer is certainly hit or miss when it comes to their pressing quality. This one is definitely a miss if you ask me.
Edit:
And that's why I give it a 3!
