Reviews
- I love this album and I'm happy to have it in my collection. However I have to be honest there is "a lot" of noise. I found that there was as much in the digital version as in the vinyl version. My appreciation of the album probably affects my judgment but I find that the noise is less annoying when listening to vinyl... The problem may come from the pressing but I think it more comes from the mixing and/or mastering. This excellent album can still be listened but maybe not for the most demanding ...
- I confirm other reviews here. Terrible vinyle pressing. The disc completely sounds worn out when right out of the plastic wrap. Repetitive plays do not remove static surface noises. I should have returned them for a refund.
- This is not a Mockasin record, but that of the fictional - and not that good - band the Jassbusters. Some of it is okay, but just don't get your hopes up too high.
- Edited 6 years agoI'm hearing a lot of surface noise on this pressing, unfortunately. It's also very quiet in the sense that you have to crank up your amp to hear it, and here's the thing, if you can listen to the digital version on the same system and it sounds better than the vinyl.....even if the digital is lossless going through a dac, something isn't right. Other than that, it's a real mellow, interesting effort and concept. Mexican Summer is certainly hit or miss when it comes to their pressing quality. This one is definitely a miss if you ask me.
Edit:
And that's why I give it a 3!
