The high-hat on this pressing is too damn hot. Very ear-fatiguing. Constant, high pitched TSSS TSSS TSSS!!!!!
Great record, clear and without scratches. Had this first press and was so stupid to sell this album!
Edited 2 years agoThe pressing itself is solid and quiet, but the mastering leaves some thickness to be desired. The stereo soundstage is a little narrow compared to the CD.
Regarding the faster speed comments...not hearing it comparing to the original CD I have, and Spotify. EDIT: Upon a recent listen, this pressing sounds great, albeit a tad on the bright side. The cymbals are where's it's revealing. Still an excellent listen but wirth the mention. Listening on the slightly on the brighter side AT540ML, fwiw.
Had this record, was indeed a bit too fast. I personally dont like how this sounds at all, it just sounds...wrong, i dont know how to explain it. The original 2LP Japan release sounds great though.- Great sound quality but it seems a tiny bit faster (and this slightly higher pitched) than it should be. Regardless it’s a totally rad record!
