A very minimal album that doesn't need to be pretend to be more than it is. Mastering wise you can barely do a better job from digital to analog. Very vibrant strings even on my standard setup. Pressing wise its mostly great, although there are few pops, especially at the end of each side. Perhaps this is at fault of my older, yet clean looking copy. Personally I find some tracks repetitive and the cover quite bland. However I mostly grade the music quality and for that I really cant fault it with enough justification. Great release if you like this type of music, and as the YouTube song uploads no longer exist of this its becoming one of the few ways to listen to it.

    Equipment used:
Rega RP1 with base carbon cart
    Cyrus 2 Amplifier
    System Fidelity SF-3050 tower speakers
    Custom made HQ speaker cables

A fantastically stark and pensive recording of overdubbed violin. Perfect for night listens and bedtime spins. Galasso touches on what a few other ECM releases from this time did with solo string instruments, whether that be well-planned harmonies over rhythmic sequences, or longing, neo-classical solo pieces performed into what sounds like a room of infinite space and dark colour. A melancholy affair all around, and a beautiful album that has a place in my mind for all time. 9/10 for this masterwork from Mr. Galasso, only outdone by ECM's own David Darling, with his 1980 LP "Journal Ocotber."
