- back in the day shit this is and always will be banging. Both tracks carry their weight! Another place to find both tracks is on concrete's release. Although I prefer the bassex pressing IMO it sounds much fuller.
- this was on the scene with a gangster lean in austin, texas back in the day. dallas was all about this sound so i know it was big there as well.
- I don't know about anywhere else, but this was a classic in the Baltimore/Washington area. Played often by Scott Henry, Dj Who, and countless locals.
Nice buildup with a subtle breakbeat and 303 line. The word 'acid' builds and changes in the background towards a breakdown, then silence, then the 'get funky' sample lights up the floor as the beat switches up. The acid lines get squelchier and progressively heavier throughout the track. Always a crowd pleaser.
I don't recall if the Pete Tall aka Bassbin Twins mix on the flip is the same as on the To a Nation Rockin' single. If so, it's a breaks-to-house switch kind of track, long but good.
