Presented in hardback bound, 164 page book in a transparent slip sleeve that features the images of the four band members on the front, complete track-listing on the rear and "The Beatles" on the spine. Each book is individually numbered on the front cover and houses all seven discs (Three in the front, four in the rear). There is also a pocket at the rear of the book that houses the poster/lyric sheet and four photographs, as per the original release in 1968.

Hype sticker on cellophane reads, "The Beatles Anniversary Edition 6CD : BLU-RAY New mixes by Giles Martin thebeatles.com" along with the Apple & Parlophone logos and the barcode.

Disc 1 & 2 contains the original tracks featuring 2018 stereo mix by Giles Martin and Sam Okell, derived from the original master tapes.
Disc 3 contains 27 acoustic sessions tracks recorded in May 1968 at a house of George Harrison.
Disc 4-6 contains 50 tracks, which are outtakes from sessions starting from May 30, 1968.
The Blu-ray (Blu-ray audio) contains the original tracks featuring the following quality: 2018 stereo mix (hi-res), mono mix (hi-res) directly transferred from the original analog tapes, DTS-HD master audio tracks (5.1ch surround), Dolby True HD.
Copies sold in Canada also contained the numbers 06025675719500 and K138197 on a white sticker affixed to the carton (see image).

I have Sgt Pepper SDE on the way, but I seriously think this is THE best Beatles release to come out of the SDE series. So many tracks for outtakes and sessions, a beautiful new remix, dolby atmos mix, surround sound mix, the original mono mix and a really really well written and put together book. If you are even a mild Beatles fan or like this album in any capacity, this is the set to get.

I had no idea these were indiviually numbered (like the original) as the number is embossed. I got 0001304 and I bought it brand new from an Amazon vendor well after release (June 2021). I received all the correct inserts and disks. Quality control must have gone downhill after day 1 of production...

Not sure if this means that the boxset should have an extra version on Discogs, but I've noticed from my own copy and unboxing videos that on the copies distributed in US/Japan, the unique number has 7 digits, whereas on UK/European/Australian copies it has 6 digits. Has anyone else noticed this?

The music speaks for itself. I love the Giles mix (I realise others don't always agree). I love the demos. The book is gorgeous but I would have preferred this and Let It Be to have been 12x12" like Pepper, Revolver and Abbey Road. My one gripe with the package is the plastic outer slipcase which is not made from suitable material and is too easily damaged even with delicate care. Mine came with a 2 inch tear in one corner and that is only going to get worse over time. More will occur.

In my opinion, an extremely definitive set for debatably the best Beatles album. The amount of takes and demos on the four, supplementing discs are more than any fan could ask for.

To my ears, the 2018 stereo mix really allows one to hear "more" into the recording, with some sweetening on the tracks to balance out the high and low end (with some instruments and vocals being shifted slightly within the channels). The best comparison I can make is how different a song like 'Happiness is Warm Gun' sounds compared to every digital version than before (the 1987 and stereo 2009 discs). The bass and percussion sound very punchy and better balanced, with John's vocals sounding clearer. It's a big difference.

Even if the takes aren't enough for some, the Blu-ray disc includes the original, uncompressed 1968 mono mix on high-res PCM audio, while having greater detail than the 2009 CD from the Mono Box. To be honest, that sole inclusion (not to mention how awesome specific songs sound in mono), is more than enough of a reason to fork a little over $100 on the set, given how expensive a mono copy costs on vinyl in decent condition. Really. That inclusion alone makes this set worth the price.

Purchased from Amazon and Disc 3 skipped around quite a bit toward the end. Returned it and replacement does the same thing. Contacted label and they said not their problem. Anyone else had this issue?
