Reviews
- Fabulous pressing! I ultrasonic cleaned the LPs and put them in poly sleeves. Maybe 2 small ticks across the 10 sides. The new remaster of the main album is great, but I still prefer the sound of my the original mint '87 Capitol (US) pressing. The live set is fantastic as well. The Clutching songs are some of the same as from the La Gazza Ladra album...so you have an idea of how on fire they were. Fish was in top form as were the rest of the band.
I am pleased with all of the vinyl boxes...these are some of the best pressings in my collection. - Edited 2 years agoExellent release, the new mix is definitely of interest. The press is good, small surface noises on the vinyl mass. Sounds good, 4 points for me. In comparison, the original first press CD sounds better. For 5 points.
- the live recordings don't sound right, something different with fish voice , I would say its a touch too slow.
- One of the best albums ever made. Fantastic songs, brilliant lyrics and awesome musicianship from the whole band. The whole Fish era of the band is of the highest quality and never gets old. Their final two albums, Misplaced Childhood and Clutching at Straws, are pure perfection. There are no other bands that sounds anything like them, so they will always be unique and close to my heart. This album, the last one they made, is their best one in my opinion. It's one that I always listen to from start to finish, probably mostly because every song is so good but also since the songs are so interconnected. The new remix sounds awesome on my gear and the pressing is quiet. This is my third copy of the studio album on vinyl and I think this one sounds the clearest and best. Absolutely recommended!
