Reviews
- Looks like I got a good copy. Pretty flat disc, the most noticeable surface noise on Pretending. Other than that it’s pretty clean sounding. It’s honestly a little bit funny listening to this album and hearing it pushing the vinyl format to its very limits. As a result, I noticed a tiny bit of sibilance, but what can you do. Would recommend!
- this one sounds great. sure, the highs are tamed a bit compared to the streaming file, but i think it sounds better. as for those who think this doesn't sound good or have issues with it skipping, there's A LOT of bass on here that a lot of setups aren't made to handle. personally, i think the bass is very clean and the soundstage is good.
listening setup: rega p6, ortofon mc cadenza bronze cartridge, stein music 'the perfect interface' carbon mat, liberty b2b-1 preamp, hegel h95 integrated amp, elac debut b5 speakers. - A very small amount of surface noise on my side A. Besides that, it still sounds great and one of my favorites. RIP SOPHIE <3 <3 <3
- I'm impressed with the quality of this album and the attention to detail on the graphic and photography area. The printed sleeve is stunningly good just as high quality as the poster. Picking red coloring for this pressing was a smart choice it looks beautiful and sounds more than alright
- Bought one that had a lot of noise and a scratch causing click/pops, so annoying. Replaced with another one that is perfect (just a bit warped). It sounds killer! Good luck with yours
- Seeing the highest value sales for this record is just so gross honestly, hope yall enjoy the money you earned exploiting an artist's death.
Record itself sounds great, fot it for a relatively good price at my local record store - my pressing is beautiful, no noise, its perfect and does the album justice. i dont have any of the issues others have pointed out. however i bought mine prior to 2021, so maybe theres a lack of quality control with the recent reissues/ repressing ?
- i get mad even thinking about this pressing. It Arrived with black discolouration all over the B side, the record edge is rough and fraying??? and it seems to have a slight warp too. miraculously it still plays fine, and sounds good but it’s fucking crazy how I have thrift store records from the 70s in better condition then this.
I was probably just unlucky (maybe not based on other comments) but regardless I shouldn’t have to roll a dice on whether or not my brand new $40 record is in good condition. Atleast it plays and sounds good; I guess that’s what matters the most - I can confirm that this pressing is fantastic. Dynamic range is wide, which means quiet is quiet and loud is loud. Lots of detail in the high frequencies. It's a perfect pressing. If it sounds bad, check your set up. Make sure your tone arm is aligned well.
