After a long and deep dive into the frequencies of Sun Ra ...lanquidity has to be the weakest of all Sun Ras as it is more based on functionality instead of spirituality ...it certainly doesn’t come with that RAdical cosmo fantasy sound for that you need to be prepared otherwise your ears will fall off...therefore lanquidity is limited ..it’s based on commercialism and profit ...and we all know what Sunny thought about these things...don’t let fool you from a metallic cover ...not everything that glitters is gold

an official reissue is a happening https://sunrastrut.bandcamp.com/album/lanquidity-definitive-edition
        so dump those scorpio bootlegs!
theres going to be a 4lp boxset, which has the original album cut at 45rpm across two discs along with the unreleased and fabled acetate mix cut at 45 spread across two discs.
Theres going to be a 2cd set and later in the fall a standard 1lp version cut at 33rpm. The boxset is limited to 4000 units but the cd and 1lp will stay in print

Pretty sure my copy was amongst first pressing, given to me by my friend, the late Tom Buchler upon release.

It has a black & white photocopy on Blue 8 1/2 x 11 inch paper pasted on plain white sleeve on front and pasted photocopy on Yellow 8 1/2 x 11 paper on back. Plain back label vinyl with hand etched SUN RA LANQUIDITY (P) 1978 PHILLY JAZZ INC (C) CAPITOL 9/14/78 PJ-1006-A on one side and just CAPITOL 9/14/78 PJ-1006-B on the other.

All reissus after 1978 are just bootlegs so don't expect hi fidelity and don't pay much money for them.It is his best album imho...

              Giles Peterson's Facebook post today:

They’ve done it... Yes @strutrecords and @art_yard_records have teamed up again to give us the extra sides all cut at 45 of the magnificent ‘Lanquidity’ album by @sunraarkestraofficial . This is, at the end of the day, my most played record by the Arkestra, and the one recorded by Bob Blank.... now as a 4 vinyl set ... alternative versions 😁... and the one to check is super stripped down ‘twin stars of thence’.... essential reissue of the year so far!
