Reviews
- This album is a thing of staggering beauty. Every moment is spellbinding. So bafflingly simple and yet so mysterious. Quiet Signs is an ageless, timeless treasure from a unique voice in the field of singer-songwriter folk music. I'm a value-oriented vinyl buyer as well, but in this instance, the 27 min runtime barely registers as an issue for me. This record has me floored, every time. And to those who say the intro isn't really a song? It's one of my favorite moments of the album. Rarely do you see artists exercise such patience. She's laconic. Only says what's needed to be said. A necessary characteristic to counterbalance the relentless hyperdrive of society today.
My white copy sounds excellent. You can almost feel the warmth of her breath on the mic; you can see her fingers combing the fretboard. You are balanced on the tightropes of piano wire... Yes it's good. Maybe I got lucky. - How's the pressing quality on the white wax? Man, I'm hoping this thing is DEAD QUIET considering the music.
