Really wonderful energetic playing from all involved. Stellar rhythm section always driving the tunes, really locked in together. A lot of different tunes from bluesy to contemporary sounding on two Lps. Great stuff. Recommended if you can find a copy. Not cheap but no regrets.

sounds wonderful to me; no surface noise, detailed and natural instruments, nice separation. wish the drums popped more, but i've never heard the original recording.

Just a phenomenal record, particularly the sublime Side B, highlighted (for me) by “Eddie Harris” and “John Coltrane,” but really the whole side. I can’t compare this to the original or Superfly, but I think this sounds great, and the pressing is top-tier. On a few tracks, the bass may be heavy or thick for some listeners, but it’s good for my personal taste.

I think I can hear a slight dropout on side C as mentioned in a previous comment, but I’m not sure and need to spend more time with this album bc the music is relatively new to me and I’m not yet picking up on all the nuances.

Can confirm this is a very lively, gorgeous pressing! Solid separation in stereo image (more so than orig). A 'bit' bass heavy but not bloated and not a bother to me personally. Well worth the insane retail price :D as this cover will likely never succumb to that annoying ringwear that the og strata's often have (esp this one)

Compared to my original pressing, I feel like this has a bit of bass boost, but still very nice sounding.

I dont want to be that guy but when compared to for example jazz records that Kevin Gray cut, this sounds like a needledrop with clicks and pops digitally removed - the saxophone has at times this odd distortion that sounds like a sibilant distortion your needle/cartridge makes when playing back a record but this time its not your needle making that noise but someone elses. This record doesnt have that AAA record feel at all. If this record would be AAA it would state that on the hype sticker - currently it says "Adiophile remastering". Or it all could be just the recording quality - not all engineers were Rudy Van Gelder...

Probably one my favourite strata east records. Holds my attention every single bar. Just amazing and this reissue is highly recommendable. Pure pleasure!

The best sounding version of this album. Absolutely stunning fidelity!

Wow. This pressing sounds fantastic. Dead silent background and amazing soundstage really allow the music to stand out.
