- I'm sure this crossed my path a while back, but it definitely did a few days back and I'm hoping so much that the postman goes fast and gets it to me in time to play out on Saturday. An absolute heavyweight
- Don't miss B1 ("Without your love"). Splendid vocal house with hypnotic synth line. I prefer it to A1 (which is great anyway).
- Edited 11 years ago"About Fourteen" is in the old Chicago deep-house tradition, with delicate piano licks, gentle pads, cool and groovy electronic bassline, and a soulfully lamenting male voice that continues the tradition of deep melancholia a la Larry Heard with Robert Owens for instance. However this early version was a little lacking substance and fullness for my taste, and the father and son team proposed the definitive rendering on Rush Hour some 18 months later, a quite rare case of self-remix clearly improving on the original.
