- Edited 4 years agoI have to agree with comments here, this has a lot of 'clicks' and 'pops'.
I still very much enjoy the LP, but we as record buyers can't just sit here and cop it. Clean up your act Get On Down. - I cleaned mine ultrasonically and still have some light ticks. Eventually will try enzyme cleaning which helps some with new pressings but yes, this pressing is a bit noisy.
- music is great, the second side is more progressive which is a nice change. My pressing has lots of pops and clicks which is a shame.
The mastering is decent, but the pressing is average at best. Plenty of pops and ticks on the first side, especially on Maiden Voyage. My copy went thru the spin clean four (!) times and this helped a little, but did not completely fix the issue. Overall, recommended if only because it's too hard to find an original pressing.
For me the highlight is Cantaloupe Island. This is a great electronic re-interpretation of that classic.- Edited 5 years agoSuper quiet, no static, crackles or pops, my copy was handled well in the factory. sealed and sounds great, maiden voyage - so good, excellent album. Not a heavy cardboard tip on stoughton sleeve and just one insert and a plain old paper disc sleeve which will need to be replaced with a more audiophile quality one.
- This is a "RSD First" release, meaning it will be available for wider release later, so do not pay inflated prices.
