- Edited one year agoThis is a great live-recording of The Fall. Sound and pressing are good, meaning in this case that all instrumnts are present and well balanced (thanks for pressing this on black vinyl!). This LP is interesting and relevant since the versions of the songs are very bare-boned and in they differ to the official studio-versions, like the primitive version of 'Touch Sensitive' or the magnificently overdriven '10 Houses Of Eve'. The Highpoints and on par with the best of the Fall on Record is the coupling of 'Antidotes' and 'Ol Gang' which is utterly fantastic. I think these bootleg-vinyls add a valuable layer to the Fall-Story and of course you can (and should) download these elsewhere. BUT if like a sound that doesn't care for 'decent' or 'audiophile' and do have a knack for the formal tension of a voluptous gatefold with great artwork by Pascal LeGras and a more or less rough sounding audio-content you might enjoy this! In this case the sound isn't too rough and fits nicely to the rockabilly styled songs. Ah, before i forget: i also like this for the lack of any 'expert'-notes that spoil the artwork and the fun...
- Edited 3 years agoIt's a bootleg! And sounds like a bootleg!
On the bootleg sound quality scale (10 being studio standard and 1 being recorded in someone's pocket in the toilet) this is 4 (MES tape ?)
I usually enjoy The Fall live albums (despite the usual poor sound quality) but not this.
Highlight; Ol' Gang
ATP Festival in 2002, The Idiot Joy Show '95, and Tramps New York '94 - the best LTEV live releases IMO - Edited 3 years agoThis sounds like it was probably a geat gig to be at but the sound quality of this recording is unexceptional amongst the many live Fall releases (i.e. above average quality live bootleg).
Good packaging and pressing but there is not really any reason for this to exist as an official release.
