Absolutely incredible moody and minimal post punk with a decidedly melancholic edge.

Raspy half-sung, half-moaned vocals that remind the listener chiefly of Richard Butler are layered over soft, gently swaying, simple backbeats. Really splendid bass guitar work and timing is kept very well by the drummer.

Never does the record stray into being wild or over-exuberant, playing instead with the delicately moving song structures of some of the more ambient and philosophical punk works.

In particular influence is seen from: The Psychedelic Furs, Wire, and Talking Heads. Make that of it what you will, but I make it to be damn good music that's easy listening for long train rides, lavender-lemon tea, and the hour of 1 am. Very impressive, and quite an interesting take on the burgeoning alternative scene at the time.

A worthy addition to any music fan's collection; almost progressively minimal soft rock that strangely makes me nostalgic for my birthplace by the tennessee border. Absolutely chock-full of easy groove.

    10/10

Very very nice record. Plus, It's not clear which instruments were played by Andrew Jackson (11) or Rick Cuevas: anyway.. what a lovely bassist!
