    I’ve noticed lately that the old internet myth of this being limited to only 500 copies on white vinyl has resurfaced, I've seen several unscrupulous record shops promote it as such. I don't even think 5000 copies would be enough, a guess would be at least 15000. A pretty typical example of a record being desirable and hence expensive rather than actually rare.

      Lucky to have this gem.
      I had a chance to compare this white vinyl pressing with the original European black vinyl and reissues.
      I don't know how, but this one beats them all in every means.

        I bought a white vinyl copy on the day of release. Not that I was a particularly big Nirvana fan but I had just moved house and I was living alone for the first time and it sort of fitted with the mood of the age. I had a big poster of Kurt on my wall for a long time. I didn't really get into the album so I took it to a record fair and sold it (for a tenner I think). Bit of a daft move in retrospect.

        Another mad Nirvana story is the signed copy of Nevermind I obtained around the same time. The story is too murky and painful to re-tell in detail but suffice to say it was another terrible deal to go with all the other awful business decisions I made around then.

        A year or so I saw a copy of Unplugged in a charity shop for not much money so I decided to relive those glorious '90s memories. I always admired Kurt covering the meat Puppets and loved the idea of the band receiving humungous royalties.

        Great album anyway.

          i can’t comment on the condition of the record itself as it was bought my father when it was released and he sadly didnt take care of it as the years went on but the album plays relatively well despite the damage done to it, album itself is great and i would recommend a listen.

            I see boude's post below - but I was hoping to know limited this release is;
            there used to be a website that listed items like this, and suggested pressing run numbers - I would think that Discogs should also have this listed.

              I bought this at a record con for $40 and when I spun it at home my cart skated all over the place during the first song. It's like the record is white becasue it's made of ice. When it wasn't skating it sounded fantastic. Looks like the spindle hole on my copy is a bit off centre. Oh well, win some lose some.
