- Edited 4 months agoThis is a good pressing. They did a good job on the mastering on this one. Great packaging too and comes with a nice huge poster as well. No issues to report.
- Just got this and spinning it now. Sounds fantastic, as far as the production. The first track is not what I was expecting, and now into the second, it's a bit more like the VW sound I know. Love it. The sound... wow, it's just popping off my turntable!
- Edited 3 years agoThe twin brother to Haim's "Something to tell you", if you ask me. Both adventurous, joyous and a joy for your ears.
Went from CD to vinyl record because this album deserves to be listened to properly, dynamics intact. Try it, you'll love it! - Definitive 2019.
From the first chords, to end, this album speaks to so much in the decade(s) long expansion of Vamp's Montauk sound. It's one thing to speak about the writing. A completely other conversation to highlight the packaging, marketing, and disposal of the record. I don't want to talk about either - as if you can't see what they did it wouldn't make sense to a young, un-liberated mind. So, for the rest of us/you, just listen to the music and let it take you on a road-trip. The vinyl record itself is mastered perfectly. A few crackles, but remember that you're playing vinyl. It's subject to a lot of elements. I bought my record when I saw them perform in 2019, at Webster Hall in New York City. They played a bagel show or something. To tell you the truth, I snuck in at the start of the second set. Stuck around and bought their record. There were pizza boxes everywhere in the lobby. Girls running around with bright, ochre clothing. Boys with tote bags. It was a momentous feeling to be the company of such people. I am only telling you this in hopes that it might vouch for fact you're buying from a computer. It's okay, but don't pay exorbitant prices. Stream the album a few hundred times, buy the CD then think about the Vinyl Record. Okay, that's enough, I think. Peace ~ Nick. - If you have a system that can handle really low frequencies and you are a fan of VW, you owe it to yourself to pick this one up.. was at a Barnes & Noble with all 4 albums and was allowing myself only one.. picked this one with no regrets. Love the Grateful Dead inspiration sprinkled throughout, you can tell how much fun they were having, the soundstage is wide and full, an instant sprawling classic
- The best album of 2019. Songwriting and progression are amazing. Deep and unbeat. One of the best records in my collection. Essential.
- I've had two copies of this pressing. Both had white specks on side c that cause crackling sound. It cannot be washed. Mostly audible on My Mistake. Very annoying. Anyone else has this issue?
- Excellent album really. Somewhat strange that musicians are not credited. Really annoying that there is no download code with it, I won't listen to it as much as I want, then...
- My side D has some distortion during We Belong Together. Other than that, a surprisingly nice pressing.
