Reviews
- Edited 2 years agoI remember a time when I could get any album in any color as long as that color was black. Today it seems like every artist is releasing colored vinyl, and in my experience it often sounds like crap. Not this time!
I am VERY HAPPY to report that after an initial cleaning, this blue-and-green release of Vampire Weekend - Father Of The Bride sounds dead quiet in the quiet parts which is really important for a Vampire Weekend album. The printing on the labels is a little off-center, but that might be by design. More important is that the actual pressing is centered fine.
My copy exhibits a tiny bit of warp visually, but not enough to create any "wow" effect in the sound. I am certain I can remove that tiny bit of warp with some gentle use of my Vinyl Flat record flattener. The only other complaint I have is that the hole is just a little too tight.
If you are a fan of Vampire Weekend's previous albums, this is a must-have. - My mam’s Hunky toyboy Gavin really is a silly man, he had me order this for him online (he’s not very good with the internet) and of course I ordered him the limited edition version. Then when it arrived he was really angry because he doesn’t understand about coloured vinyl, he thought it was a manufacturing error and he made me send it back straight away in exchange for the “proper” black version. Now he has seen the price the limited edition version is fetching on the reseller market he is even more angry with me for sending it back. Honestly you just can’t win with some people!!
- This was actually available for about 24 hours before it sold out (not too surprised with that price). My copy does sound great though!
- LOL, a hundred bucks? Darn flippers. I swear color variants will one day implode just like comic book cover variants in the 90's.
