Reviews
- Well, quite a dissapontment. The album in itself is excellent, the overall production and qc is however flawed.
Distorted highs and as other are saying, paper residue on the record. - so mine has the first 10sec of Ausländer missing aswell, both discs were noticeably dirty out of the sleeve. had quite a bit of paper residue. overall alright sound nothing to really right home about, which really sucks because this is one of my favorite albums
- I think this is one of the Best sounding vinyl I have listened to. With Best I mean, no or less Sss sound on vocals, surface noise and distortion. This is the first press so it sounds from the time, smooth and dynamic, recommended. 5 vinyl 5 cover out of 5.
- Mine skips a bit on the first 10 seconds of Auslander, which is a shame since it's one of my favourites from this album; other than that, very impressed with the quality of this release.
- This album is not mastered well on high frequencies if you compare to other Rammstein albums. Vocals are crisp though, so it was definitely the intent of the producer to make it so. Personally I do not feel that CD version is better, with a good stylus this album sounds exactly like CD, I'd say a little bit better due to less compression applied. So, my final review on the pressing is that you can make it sound like CD with a nice stylus, for example nagaoka mp150 or mp200. Though - lower range of nagaokas like mp110 will give you that feeling of 'where are the high frequencies? no hi hats at all'. I made a 1 to 1 comparison vinyl with a good stylus vs CD. The issue is the source, it's not that they messed up the vinyl version.
- I don't have any skipping issues however the sound is pretty flat and doesn't sound that great which is a shame.
- Edited 4 years agoI love Rammstein and this album is awesome, however on vinyl, I would agree with some of the other reviews. the sound quality is kind of flat when compared to other metal vinyl records. The mix just doesn't have the depth you would expect it to which is kind of disappointing. I will be keeping my copy tho as overall its a nice package with the minimalistic cover and the lyrics on the inner sleeves. the addition of the band pictures is a nice touch as well
