- Is it the "sex mix" of Nancy Boy on this release? Certainly it sounds very different from the other album version I have to hand.
- Edited 2 months agoOne of those albums where side B is better than side A. Superior to streaming, that's for sure. The guitar sound on Nancy Boy is amazing, where does all that detail come from? Never heard it this good before. The louder I play the album, the better it sounds. Which isn't all that common, many albums seem to saturate out and fatigue the listener.
- This pressing is GREAT, I can only compare to high quality digital and it sounds way better. The guitars sound great, the drums sound amazing and really clear, the bass is very rich and detailed, I don't seem to find the same problem as others, in any case just turn the bass knob down and you're good. Great instrument separation, very clear, no posps and clicks, I really raccomend it.
- It plays really well, but, as all the modern EU presses, it is all focus on medium frequencies, with consequent lack of bass, lightly audible... This album needs seriously any USA press, there all frequencies are usually balanced perfectly... I wish this could happen....
- Edited 2 years agoBoth this one and Without you…are flat and crackle free nor do they have pops. But the overall sound is unbalanced, overtly bassy (in particular!), sibilanced and have strong IGD, whereas the first press CDs (and i assume any following pressings) are lofty, present an even EQ and have indeed a nice soundstage. So much more fun to listen to!
Both Vinyl don‘t do the music any service. Compressed and ugly sound.
Packaging is very well done. - Just listening to this now and can only repeat what others have said, sounds lovely, pancake flat poppity-click free record. Welcome addition to my collection.
- Just received this from Amazon. It came from one of their French warehouses into the UK. Mine has the same Matrix / Runout as the 2015 Red Vinyl RE. https://www.discogs.com/Placebo-Placebo/release/6910675
