Reviews
- I had one of the copies with terrible surface noise on side A, but I just got an ultrasonic cleaner and ran this one through. Now, it's silent. So lots of these copies with surface noise I think are just dirty. Give it a good clean and it should improve!
- Received my copy via VMP subscription June 2019. Happy to say the flaws that others have reported seem to have passed over my copy, it is dead silent. The songs are punchy and dynamic, sounds amazing. Packaging is great as always, heavy high quality sleeve and inserts. Nice, upbeat, synthy indie rock goodness.
- Once I listened to the VMP version, I couldn't give away my old copy fast enough. The difference is night and day. I've been a member since 2016 and this is easily in the top ten of VMP reissues. Stunning, life-like sound. I can't recommend it enough.
- This edition is astonishing in every way. The pressing sounds unreal and the packaging has so much care put into it. It became a favorite in my collection from the moment I brought it home This is the best way to experience this record.
- What a beauty! Fantastic artwork and flawless, dynamic sound!
The enormous range in terms of pressing quality of GZ Media (from horrible to incredible) never fails to amaze me! - This VMP release of Wolfgang Amedeus is simply superb. I have the original release and it pales in comparison. Sonically speaking, the audio is superb. Equipment: Linn Magik, Kef 104s, NAD integrated Amps.
- Came into a copy of this via Discogs in Near Mint condition. Saw theurbanpunk's review about surface noise and noticed that my copy had the same issues on Side A - it's very pronounced on the first two tracks "Lisztomania" and "1901", especially during the quiet moments. This definitely seems to be a quality control issue of the pressing. I did a thoroughly cleaning of the record and although it helped in some places, the surface noise on those two tracks is still there.
Such a shame because otherwise the record looks and sounds great! Curious if other people's versions also have this issue or only a select few of the copies. - Edited 2 years agoThis sounds really good, but I would’ve preferred the original pink cover to this silver one.
- I came into possession of an extra copy of this one- would love to work out a vinyl swap if anyone's interested
