Reviews
- Overall, I think this is a really good pressing. I don’t have the OG press to compare to, but I DO have the CD that came with this set. Comparing the two side-by-side, I think the CD is louder and has much brighter high end. However, I think the vinyl offers a less harsh mix with the vocals more present and up front. The fact that you get both mediums to choose from makes this a solid little set. The addition of the 7” is also nice (all 3 songs are on the CD as well). I believe the OG was not a gatefold - this one is. Very well-constructed.
The inner sleeves are just paper, so you’ll want to replace those immediately. Additionally, if you manage to find a sealed copy (like I did), then it has been in that state for almost 15 years - the CD packaging produced burn-in on the LP it was housed with in the gatefold. Luckily, this did not cause any audible issues, but you can visibly notice a 3/4 circle on side B of LP1. I’m sure they weren’t thinking these things would sit for a decade and a half before someone opened them!
