Great pressing. Instrument separation as mentioned in many comments on here is great. Drums are punchy, bass is tight, guitar and vocal parts are clear. My copy is pretty quiet too. I have a bit of surface noise but nothing to complain about. Glad to have this on vinyl. Definite improvement over the digital version. Lots of information I didn’t catch until I heard this on vinyl. Great buy!
Bought this sealed at a local record store. The disc was covered in what looked like flecks of paper, and as such crackled althoughout, even after being brushed and wiped down. Thankfully though, crackling was barely an issue, since the music was loud enough to mask it. Only in the quieter parts did it become prominent. And like another user said, the volume is lower in comparison to other black midi albums on vinyl, but it doesn’t bother me at all since this album was meant to be cranked up. Instrumental separation is very dynamic too.
My unopened pressing came with a notable scuff through the whole closing passage of Western, which pops especially loud given how quietly this pressing is mixed. Other than that it sounds really awesome, will be 5 stars if my replacement is in better shape.
Wow the instrument seperation is crazy good on this. The vinyl is probably the lowest mixed record I own, which makes noise a lot more noticeable, apart from that it sounds perfect.
