Notes

First release from Aphex Twin. Remastered and re-released under the artist name AFX with the catalogue number MF201 in late 1993.
On this pressing Tom Middleton (Schizophrenia) is misleadingly credited on "AFX 2" when he was only involved on "En Trance To Exit".
Most copies have a stamp on the white label side.
Some promo copies exist.

Sitting in a bed sit late one night in Bradford 1991 tripping hard listening to Bradford pcr ,analogue bubble bath comes into the mix ,we’re all really into this tune that we’d never heard before ,then the DJ sais in a thick West Yorkshire accent ,sounds of the alfex twin ….. trip. Think I’ve still got that tape somewhere as we used to tape pcr religiously.anyhow we were forever hooked on the alfex twin for many years after and quite rightly so

Having bought from a record shop in Falmouth I took it home and instantly felt very lucky. It was clearly a special bit of record ! I got my crappy decks (technics BD 22s, the 'BD' stands for belt driven) shortly after. I have fond memories of finding the most lightweight, poppy and supposedly uplifting tracks and blending them for as long as I could with ' Isopropophlex'. The effect was often unsettling and strangely mesmerising...good fun too, try it yourself ! Isopropophlex still remains one of my most favourite Aphex tracks.

En Trance To Exit for me is the only track of Richards that falls short of his vision & talent.

I used to frequent Mighty Force records in Exeter quite a lot back in the day.It was the bomb for finding the more abstract Euro house,And they got a lot of really limited white label stuff as well.Over time and regular visits,I got to know Mark who ran the shop quite well.whilst dj'ing at a large warehouse party in Weston Super Mare,he gave me a first press of Mighty Force 001,which was one of the first 30.
It Is the white label with the stamped "Aphex Twin E.P." and printed Mighty Force sticker,But the flip side looks like it used to have a white label on,but was later removed (or came off at the initial pressing stage.)
Although Mark also gave me a copy of MF-201 as well(which was the copy that got hammered--that test is TOO precious!!!),This has too be one of my most treasured possesions and a true moment in time in the advancements of industrial techno.
