Late 60's repressing with purple / orange UA labels.
Very similar to The Good, The Bad And The Ugly (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) but with different typesetting / font on labels.
Side indicators appear left of center hole.
Misprint details:
- Main title: "The Good, The Ugly And The Bad".
- A1 title: "The Good, The Ugly and the Bad (Main Title)"
- B4 title: "The Ectasy Of Gold"
These are all correct on the cover.

Reviews
- Yes it is written that way as a straight translation of the Italian film title.....Il Buono, Il Brutto Il Cattivo (Good, Ugly, Bad) This led to Lee Van Cleef being wrongly billed as ''Mr. Ugly comes to town'' in the later US release of the film, ''The Big Gundown'' The LP record label was also printed in that way on some of the earlier UA black label and was carried incorrectly onto the orange and plumb before that too was corrected. So it is possible to collect both of these issues in both printed versions. This was never the case in the UK as United Artists in England got it right first time with the 1968 blue and silver V label release.
- Best. Soundtrack. Ever.
But, how do I know which pressing I have? I just found a copy in ex-nm condition at a local used record store. It still has shrink wrap on it. Inner sleeve is red/orange with UA in cubes. Record label is red/orange and has the misprint, “The Good, The Ugly and The Bad”. Back of jacket is labeled, “Stereo UAS 5172, High Fidelity UAL 4172”. No barcode. - John Zorn wrote a very nice appraisal of Ennio Morricone and this album in the NYT. See link below.
