First play was ‘muddy’ but has cleaned up beautifully. Anything by Kevin Gray is worth seeking out and this is no exception. Great pressing, stunning detail with bounce on the bass on my set up. A super reissue of a great album.
I have had two different copies of this album. First I had this 2019 US/EU pressing. Couples of months ago I decided to buy 2008 US pressing because I felt that there was something missing in the upper register. These two pressing have different matrix order in side A and B, so they are not the same Kevin Gray cut. KPG@ATM vs. KPG+SH@ATM. After comparison I decided to keep 2008 US pressing. It has better overall sound quality and I don't think anymore that something is missing in the high frequencies. PS. I have read comments that these Kevin Gray cuts are better than the originals pressing so that's why I have not wanted to seek them.
My copy is surprisingly silent and fairly balanced. Although there is a short period of distortion at the beginning of Track 1 on Side A, I'm happy with this pressing.
