When is the vinyl repress coming from Warp? They already re-issued the rest of his back catalog, and now they just need to give this one the same treatment to sent all the absurd prices for it back to normal.

Pretty much the most underrated album ever by Aphex Twin. The amount of effort put into this left me speechless the first time i heard it. Yes, i can agree it takes time to get into this one, but it's no doubt the work of a genius, and anyone who claims it's not should think again. It goes back and forth between genres displaying James's various skills.
Tracks like Avril 14th speaks for themselves and pretty much anyone could enjoy such a beautiful piece, while Mt. Saint Michel Mix-St. Michaels Mount, Meltphace 6 and Ziggomatic V17 displays Richard's capability with melodies and pads, which i enjoyed the most out of this album. Yes, people say it's just bits and pieces made from boredom on a USB/Ipod which Richard lost on a plane, forcing him to release them, but i disagree, i'll say it again, it's no other than the work of a mad genius. Looking forward to getting this on vinyl soon.

Is it common knowledge that this album is pronounced drug use? The kqs would sound like kuice. Any time I tell someone they say they've called it druks for the last ten years. Food for thought eh?

Definetly best Aphex Album , very emotional, energetic, expressive, dynamic, dark and crazy. Aphex twin plays with colors, lights, Ghosts performances , crazy trips and stop motion in a fine way. My favourite tracks are "Gwely Mernans" and " Mt Saint Michel+Saint Michaels Mount". Its been a long time since this Aphex Twin doesn´t release another Album, and that´s a pity because it feels like put aside a great talent in a closet.

His best album so far!
As he said in an interview, he put in more effort in the details than in any album before. I like the beautiful melodies of the solo piano tracks as i like the rougher drill’n’bass parts. I even like the track »Gwarek2« somehow, which is pretty scary. Sounds like some energy from outer space is raping a woman…
This is a very emotional release with a broad range.
As someone else said here: There is a thin line between genious and madness. He is about to fall over.

If I would go to an empty island with just one album to choose from it could be this.

Drukqs. Oh boy, let me just breathe for a moment.
This record is epic.
It is my favorite RDJ work, because you can feel how much passion he put into it and how mature his sound has grown. It is reminescent of SAW 85-92, yes. And ICBYD. And RDJ Album. And everything that came after Come to Daddy. It is a summary of RDJ's principles of music composition, but it is also so much more than that. The heaviest tracks, the most complex pieces i have ever heard, might sound just that on first listenings: complex. But they aren't really about frenetic drill 'n' bass only. It's the melodies that constantly appear, disappear, develop, the rhythm changes, the subtle details, so many that with each listen you find a new one. Or simply imagine a new one? It's so complex that you lose conscience. It's classical music, not because of the artwork, but because there are moments, happenings, stories, dialogues between sounds and sequences. And the piano tracks! How beautiful all of them. Drukqs would simply be a disaster without them. Besides being some of the most remarkable melodies i have heard coming from a bedroom music producer, they create the breathing moments between the epileptic-like tracks. It's like Yin and Yang. The conquest of balance. Imagine you are trapped inside a piano and suddenly all the pieces come to life and decide to kill you. This is the soundtrack to your attempt to escape.
