- Sounds great. I was tired of Vinyl Me Please pushing back their 2024 Purple color variant, so I got refunded for it. I was supposed to have that in June. It got pushed back to December then again to March 2025.
I also had trouble finding a good condition reasonably priced original pressing, So I decided to give this pressing a try. And I was not disappointed. It sounds amazing. - Sounds great on my system. Using an Audio Technica LP60 connected to a Yamaha CR-1020 with Wharfedale Diamond 11.4 speakers. Vocals are bright and the instruments come through very nice. Not flat or disappointing in the slightest. For a $15 find at my local record store, I’m thrilled with this record!
- I agree with trippmitchell99 Apr 11, 2023. This issue unfortunately sounds absolutely flat and anything but rich. (I can't compare to the first release, as I've never heard that one. But I can compare with other records from that time and genre).
It sounds like a typical reissue from the time when the original recordings were digitized and then simply put back on vinyl.
Beggars can't be choosers, though. - Edited one year agoA solid reissue from 2019. Has great clarity and dynamics, Dolly's voice out front at all times with no distractions from the band.
Highlights of course are "I Will Always Love You" and "Jolene", two singles that have become country canon. Dolly writes all but two songs on this album, and they are engaging. Her voice is light, lilting, sometimes breathy, and so expressive.
Better than decent pressing, no noise between tracks, no pressing errors, and good dynamics.
3.5 stars - It’s rather lifeless. While it’s not the absolute worse pressing I have ever heard, cats on a tin roof have more dynamics. For 15 bucks it gets the job done on a rather hard to find record. It just sounds like a cheap mp3 pressed to vinyl.
- Couldn't find an original, and in my opinion this is a great option. I had a really loud staticky sound near the end of track 4, but it came out with a good cleaning so no worries there. Highly recommend!
- This is a good pressing. A small amount of background noise. No pops/clicks. Nothing fancy with the packaging, but that's fine by me. I recommend this.
