I am wondering about the mastering of this vinyl release. I have the impression that all the "s" sounds have been mastered as "sh" ... It really spoils an interesting album... anyone else notice this flaw?

An excellent modern roots reggae album from Vaughn Benjamin and Akae Beka! The music and production here is fairly stripped down and feels much like a live set or an early Midnite album, allowing Vaughn's incredible prophetic lyricism to shine. Though that's not to say that there isn't plenty of experimentation, and songs like "Estevanico" stand out to me as an interesting, more rhythmic and heavy direction to take for the group. Elsewhere the album is solid hypnotic reggae that stands up to any of the group's previous releases. Great to have a full Akae Beka album on vinyl!
