Another interesting album of percussive black metal from Mgla, depending on tension and release as with "Exercises in Futility", the previous nihilistic outing from the Polish band. The drummer has garnered accolades for his skin pummeling, and especially for his innovative cymbal work, which is just great on this record. The melodies are also appreciable, though I do not think they are better than "Exercises in Futility". The recording is appropriately cold and slightly hard; not great but plenty of detail on offer. A forbiddingly cold and brutal album.
