Yea my only scientific wax vinyls so far are from Nebula. That being said, there is a pretty good reason for it. I am fairly new to this label and am gutted that I missed the Stagger VIP and SWR007 however proud to play the Haunted Mind EP and this recent Midi Rhodes EP. I have collected an array of jungle from various artists and I have to agree with DnB_Addict about his tracks being something that "no-one has ever made anything like". Nebula is on some astral shit 100% and does it so well, the only person I can think of that is similar is Danny Breaks but his beats are more directed towards a sy-fi and spacey atmosphere. This blue color vinyl rocks my nuts off too, I feel kaom on that.

Don’t listen to ‘Shylok’s’ bunk comment below (which he may try to hide by editing and retracting his initial words upon seeing my rebuttal). Nebula has been crafting and honing a very unique sound which can only be described as ‘Nebula’ — specifically regarding his astral soundscapes in tracks Silent Universe, True Wonder, & Kawai Bliss; Further, I highly recommend he keep making tracks with these exact soundscapes for the purpose of pushing a certain sound. The elegant riffs on the last half of Midi Rhodes & Artcore, paired with the amen chops and perfect basslines — No one has ever made anything like it. Don’t even get me started on ‘Perfect Harmony’ — it’s a savage amen tearout with rugged alternating breaks and the fattest bassline in the game, which both proceed to progress into an all out assault over a blissful atmosphere. Nebula is doing things with sound layering/design, amen choppage and basslines that no one other than Marlon could imagine possible/dream up. Lastly, the skill it takes to think up and pair perfectly executed basslines over the drum choppage (Amen AND Non-Amen) that Nebula creates — that is the work of a true master of the craft. Anyone is allowed to have their own taste, but ‘Shyloks’ comment below is ignorant to say the least — To infer he’s just throwing a simple pad over an amen loop, LMAO... People who know their history, understand that Nebula is an absolute talent to be marveled. I don’t know how Nebula dreams up these tunes and puts them into physical being, especially in such a voluminous quantity — it’s a ‘True Wonder.’ This is Nebula’s best release yet, by FAR, and I would highly encourage him to make a full album with the exact styles that are being featured in all four tracks on this excellent Retro 010 release, because this is a sound that you won’t hear from anyone else, EVER, and it is exquisite. The formula is to make tracks the ”oldschool way,” and for Nebula’s atmospheric work, the formula is derived from the Atmospheric 90’s DnB & Jungle. Learn your history ‘Shylok’... Retro 010 is legendary!

Here its the non amen track of Kawai Bliss which stands out for me as having more of a journey. While its a solid all round release as expected from Scientific Wax, when compared to previous releases its not the strongest release from Nebula or the label overall. Which although consistent has released some average releases in recent years by their standards. They can have a tendency to meandre off without any real purpose or direction. The formula is just some nice pads over some breaks, its nothing ground breaking. Despite this, given the collectors reputation the label has built up amongst the current revival trend for all things jungle, they will sell like hot cakes regardless. Which could be the reason why its resting on it laurels a bit of late.
