Lizzo – Cuz I Love You

I was really concerned about buying this record due to it being over 40 minutes in duration on one LP, especially considering the type of music it is. As usually this means the LP will be pressed 'quiet' and will need more gain applied to listen to it at a proper volume, which raises the noise floor and can mean less bass presence and higher compression etc commonly resulting in a less dynamic and flat listening experience.

But, I am incredibly im'pressed' with this record, it is punchy, has deep bass presence, crisp highs and has great separation between instruments (or synths) and vocals. This is not usually my type of music but a track on this deluxe song list ear wormed me, and a friend purchased it for me for my birthday knowing this is not something I would invest in on vinyl. I am really grateful for it as I have listened to it several times round and its a great album and sounds incredible, especially considering the tracks are squeezed on to one LP.

I had a tiny bit of surface noise in a spot for less than ten seconds, but being a long term collector understand this is part of the finicky nature of records so have real expectations for the medium. Don't hesitate to buy this record to play on any system as it will indeed sound awesome !

Really surprised how great this pressing sounds. Really clear and really vibrant. Punchy bass and crisp highs.

This is an amazing album, probably one of the best that came out of 2019. The vinyl didn’t have any issues or problems, and sound quality was nice, but didn’t really blow me away or anything. I’m still very happy I purchased this record and play it all the time.

I received this record as a Christmas gift and I was pleasantly surprised with the quality after reading some reviews. I've come to accept the variants in the way vinyls play versus their digital counterpart, and I'm happy with the sound quality of this record. It's not muffled, the vocals are clear and the physical appearance has evenly cut grooves. This is just great.

Does anyone else have a copy that doesn't have any information in the matrix?

My copy is way off center and has orange peel throughout. A little bit of non-fill on side B. Disappointing.

My copy sounds good enough, doesn't blow me away but it's by no means bad. Surprised how good Tempo sounds given it's the last track on the side / near the inner groove.

A very good and lively pressing - just a few pops here and there, nothing serious. It's fitting that Missy Elliott makes a guest appearance here, as Lizzo is kind of her successor in many ways. I love the way that she can effortlessly switch between singing and rapping, and sounding great at both of them!
