- Awesome, hefty, jackin tech-house funk on the one side, the Rockliffe influence, whereas the flip is more electronic-edged techno, which is clearly the Christian Smith slant on tingz.
I first heard this on Trevor's 2001 Radio One Essential Mix, (where he played both the a-side and the b-side), and I immediately sought it out on Juno. It is one of the most awesome, infectious techy grooves in the history of dance. The way the hi-hat's kick into the groove is just sooooo phat!
Why don't they get together and knock up another EP or maybe an album, new for 2008? - Edited 16 years agoThis is a fantastic deep funky tech-house dub that can be used to build the mood from house tracks into harder techno. But just to say that doesn't do the track justice. It has that magic combination of a laidback feel with an undercurrent that is subtly hard and raw. The "definition of love" whispered vocal sample just eats into the brain and the hypnotic pounding drums whip up an understated storm on the dancefloor. It's one of those tunes that seems to keep getting faster even though it never does.
I think this is one of the first tunes that opened people's eyes/ears to the intec label. It's a pity these guys never got together again to create more of this magic!
